Case Overview:
- 15-year-old female patient referred in 1981 for cloacal repair
- Work up at birth at two University Centers concluded patient had female pseudohermaphroditism without endocrine cause
- Prior surgery was cutback of UGS and laparotomy to view (normal) pelvic organs.
Follow Up:
- Patient had normal urine control after enlarging vaginal introitus, no longer having vaginal filling on micturition with dripping out of urine contained in vagina
- Normal bowel control unless diarrhea occurred
- Patient was able to become pregnant; Cesarean section was elected by the obstetrician
- Surgical misadventure resulted in perceived need for immediate hysterectomy, which was performed
- Baby was fine
- Mother had Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation and nearly expired, but recovered
